Much like bad weather hit the northern region the prior day, the home side blew United away at the Etihad. It was a statement 3-0 triumph for the City coach's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that firmly established their leadership claims as they consolidated their place at the top of the table.

Successive Setbacks for Manchester United

This scoreline marked back-to-back league defeats for Skinner's side for the first time since May 2024, placing them a sizable gap off the league leaders with their title hopes in serious doubt.

After failing to defeat any opponent who ended above them last season, Jeglertz’s side now have wins against Arsenal and United to place them in a favorable position after nine matches.
